Dr. Jack Lawson
Rev. Joseph Leach
Joseph was born into a Bible-believing and church-going family in April of 1988. Both grandfathers are ministers of the Gospel and worked hard and spent much time in prayer to point their families to Christ. Joseph was saved on August 3, 2008. He was a member at New Testament Baptist Church in Loganville, GA. That Sunday was titled, “Heaven Sunday” and had a special emphasis on those that had passed on. As he sat through that service he began to realize that he was truly lost, even though he had made a profession of faith earlier in life. Later that day he made a decision that would change his course for eternity. He got saved. In December of 2008 while he was helping in the youth ministry, the Lord placed another calling on his life, the call to preach. Through Matthew 9:37 Joseph realized that the harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few. God wanted him to surrender his life to full-time Christian ministry. Joseph would begin at that point preparing for God’s calling on his life. He immediately enrolled in the online program at Liberty University. After Liberty, he enrolled at Truett McConnell University and now attends the Baptist Institute of America and Seminary in Loganville, GA.
After his salvation, Joseph understood the importance of being involved in his local church. He had a desire to see young people come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior so he began serving in the Awana and youth ministries at New Testament Baptist Church. After serving for several years at New Testament God opened a door for Joseph to be the director of Children’s church at Forrest Hills @ Mountain View Baptist Church where he would serve for 2 years. Once again the Lord lead Joseph to another ministry that would serve as the launchpad for where he is today, Victory Baptist Church in Loganville, GA. During his time at Victory Joseph helped with the children’s ministries and was the director of the Greeter’s ministry. Joseph was only at Victory for a little over a year. In March of 2013 while at a pastor’s fellowship meeting Joseph ran into a long-time family friend, Dr. Jack Lawson. During their conversation, Bro. Jack mentioned that his ministry, which was a new ministry, was in need of some help. After several further conversations and much time in prayer, Joseph became the Associate Pastor at Jackson County Baptist Church in Jefferson, GA. During his time at JCBC, he has had the opportunity to see God’s hand of blessing with the church’s continual growth and need for relocation into a beautiful new facility. Today, JCBC continues to see that hand of blessing as the church is in the development stage of erecting a new multi-purpose facility needed for the church’s extracurricular activities and ministries.
Joseph met his beautiful wife Whitney while serving at Forrest Hills @ Mountain View Baptist Church in Snellville, GA. FHMV is the product of God bringing two churches together, Mountain View Baptist Church of Snellville, GA and Forrest Hills Baptist Church of Stone Mountain, GA. Both churches had something that the other needed and it was best suited that they merge into one. It was through this merger that God brought Joseph and Whitney together. It was even stated during the preliminary period of the merger by one of Joseph’s aunts that one day Joseph would marry that pretty red-headed girl. His aunt was right and the rest was history. Joseph and Whitney got married on April 28, 2012. They both enjoy serving the Lord together and look forward to His hand of guidance and direction in the future. On July 30, 2013 God’s hand of blessing was active again with the birth of their first child, Sadie Grace. On December 28 ,2015 God delivered a Christmas present a few days late with the birth of Lawson Christopher. Joseph’s greatest focus is to his first ministry, his family. His greatest desire is to see that his two children come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
